Hi, I’ve been struggling with a dilemma for a few months now. I just graduated my masters summa cum laude in bio-engineering but realized for a while now that my real ambitions are more towards corporate life (possibly still in biotech sector). I’ve been applying for jobs for a while now but mainly only qualify for engineering jobs (which makes sense). I was wondering if styding an MBA would be worth it already at this point and if so if there are any good public business schools in Europe that people know of that still have their application process open for the next semester. So far, I’ve been looking in the direction of Barcelona but am open to any suggestions. Kind regards

Firstly, congratulations on your graduation with such high honours! It’s understandable to find oneself at a crossroads, especially after achieving significant milestones.

Are you currently working? An MBA can be a strategic transition from a technical role to a more business-oriented one. However, if you are not currently working, It can provide you with a comprehensive understanding of business operations, management, and strategy. It can be beneficial if you want to enter the corporate world, possibly in leadership or managerial roles. However, consider the following before making a decision:

    1. Career Goals: Clearly define your goals and how an MBA will help you.
    2. Financial Investment: Evaluate the cost of the MBA program and consider whether you are ready for such an investment. An MBA is a relatively expensive programme.
    3. Experience: Some MBA programmes prefer candidates with a few years of work experience. Evaluate whether gaining some experience in the biotech sector before pursuing an MBA would be beneficial.

Some very good business schools to consider for your MBA are: HEC Paris, Warwick Business School, INSEAD, Aston Business School.

    Good luck applying!
